MS Sydney to the Gong

Date: 5 November 2017
Location: Sydney Park, St Peter, Sydney, NSW
Distance/s: 90km & 58km

The 36th MS Sydney to the Gong Ride is a spectacular one day community bike ride finishing in Wollongong aiming to raise funds for people living with multiple sclerosis.

Choose from the 90km course from Sydney or the 58km course from Engadine, cycling through iconic locations including Stanwell Tops, the Royal National Park, Sea Cliff Bridge with a mighty finish in Wollongong amongst a backdrop of surf, sun and sand.

Event organisers have partnered with Sydney Trains to offer 26 additional trains to transport MS Gong Riders via Special Event Services departing from Wollongong Station, to help cyclists return back to Sydney.

Big Red Ride Sydney

The Big Red Ride Sydney is know as the toughest one-day ride out of Sydney.

Cycling enthusiasts are once again set to take on the Big Red Ride Sydney on Sunday 26 November 2017. The 150 participants will enjoy a celebration of Sydney icons in a ride of endurance they will never forget.

The Big Red Ride is a charity ride rather than a race, however to celebrate the Big Red Ride’s 5-year anniversary we are introducing a brand new element – the HAWKESBURY HEIGHTS ‘KING OF THE MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE’. This is a fun, optional 2.9km time trial up the gruelling 203m elevation to Hawkesbury Heights. This is a Category 3 Climb.

Bondi to Katoomba – 150km
Bondi to Richmond – 85km

Places are limited to 150 riders and will be done on a first in basis so hurry and sign up now to avoid disappointment!

RIDE FOR THOSE WHO CAN’T – 100% of funds raised will go to the MDNSW Kids for Life Program to help children living with Muscular Dystrophy.

L’Étape Australia

Distance/s: 160km and 130km

L’Étape Australia follows in the footsteps of L’Étape du Tour (French for “a stage of the tour”), a mountainous stage of the Tour de France opened to amateur riders who rode the same course as the professionals and experienced what it is like to ride in Le Tour.

In 2017, the global cyclosportive event, comes to the Snowy Mountains of Australia for the second time.

L’Étape Australia offers two levels of participation, both on fully closed roads under professional race conditions and each featuring the King of the Mountain and Sprint sections. Adhering to the look, feel and delivery levels of the Tour de France, L’Étape Australia will bring the Tour de France to the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales.

Proposed as the ultimate challenge in Australian amateur cycling, the course will cover 160km featuring more than 3,000m of climbing. A shorter edition of the ride with less climbing will also be on offer, minus the pressure of racing.

Noosa Triathlon

he Noosa Triathlon is one of Australia’s longest running and prestigious triathlons, attracting a quality field each year to Queensland’s beautiful Sunshine Coast.

The first ever Noosa Triathlon was held in 1983 and attracted only 180 competitors. The triathlon has since grown into a first class international multi sport and entertainment event.

The Noosa Triathlon Multi Sport Festival is an annual five-day hallmark event, celebrating sports participation, healthy lifestyles, fitness and fun.

Hamilton Island Triathlon

The Hamilton Island Triathlon is a sprint distance triathlon located on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef, amongst the Whitsundays.

The 750m swim leg takes place in Catseye Bay, followed by an undulating 20km cycle leg around the undulating landscape of southern part of Hamilton Island encompassing the airport runway and a 5km run around the marina and resort sides of Hamilton Island.

Challenge Shepparton

Date: 12 November 2017
Location: Victoria Park Lake, Shepparton, VIC
Distance/s: 1.9/90/21.1

Challenge Shepparton is a long course triathlon with a reputation for being one of Australia’s best athlete-friendly events.

Beginning with a swim in Victoria Park Lake, followed by two flat and fast laps of the 45km cycle leg, the race finishes with a 21 km run through the surrounding bushland.

Ironman 70.3 Western Sydney

Location: International Regatta Centre, Penrith, NSW

Ironman 70.3 Western Sydney is a long course triathlon nestled at the base of the Blue Mountains in Penrith, New South Wales. The 2017 edition will host the IRONMAN 70.3 Asia-Pacific Championship.

The 1.9km swim course takes place at the International Regatta Centre in Penrith, followed by a 90km cycle leg with breathtaking mountain views and then the final 21.1km run leg, which encircles the venue, providing spectators a viewing point of the entire race.

The race offers 60 qualifying slots to the 2018 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, to be held at Nelson Mandela Bay in South Africa.

Victorian Triathlon Series – Race 1

Race one of the 2017/18 Victorian Triathlon Series (formerly known as the Gatorade Triathlon Series) will be held at Elwood Beach.

More details regarding one of the nation’s favourite triathlon series will be added as soon as they become available.

If your competing for the above sports events, make sure you are ready.
